Wholistically’s Simple, Holistic Approach to Glowing Skin

Caroline from @wholistically embraces simplicity and self-trust in her holistic approach to health and beauty. Her routine focuses on listening to her body, staying hydrated, and nurturing her skin with gentle care. It’s all about balance through mindfulness, movement, and nourishing habits for glowing skin and a balanced life.

What does holistic health mean to you and how do you incorporate it into your daily life?

It means that everything that I surround myself with has an impact on how I am feeling, physically, mentally and emotionally. I used to be a lot harder on myself and tended to strive for perfection but I’ve learned to take things less seriously, that my version of healthy is not necessarily the same as yours and that is ok. I really just try my best every day to listen to my body and trust my intuition and make my decisions from that.

What small but effective habits do you have for keeping your skin fresh and glowing every day?

I have great faith in my body’s ability to care for itself when I give it the right foundation to do so. So I try to make sure I move my body every day, preferably in the morning, to get the lymph flowing and I eat foods that feels nourishing and supporting. I’m doing my best to stick to a habit of hydrate before caffeinate (hehe) to support my skin from the inside, that can be a big glass of water with lime and some sea salt or an herbal infusion.

When I have a little extra time for myself I do my little face massage routine and use my face cups and finish it off with some cold water therapy.

I go nowhere before I’ve moisturized my skin and I love the combination of moisture and deep nourishment that The Lotion and The Barrier Elixir gives my skin.

How do you link inner health, such as stress management and mindfulness, to your skincare routine?

Beauty and caring for myself has always been a part of my essence, when I feel good in my body and comfortable in my skin I show up more aligned and grounded in my own essence.

As someone who is treating people with my hands (I do face massages) I know the impact that touch has on our nervous system. And I belive self touch is such an important part in feeling good about ourselves. Whether it is a sensual moment with ourselves, a thorough face massage or while scrubbing our body in the shower. So we work from both ends to get the most radiant results, your skincare is the supporter of how you tend to yourself from the inside and vice versa.

What role does nature and sustainability play in the choices you make for your health and beauty?

It plays a huge part in the choices I make every day. Of course I’m human and in no way perfect, but most of what I eat is local and I am very picky about what I put on my skin. I carry a deep respect for the earth we have and I know she could do without me but I couldn’t do without her.

What have you learned over the years about taking care of your skin, and what changes have you made in your routine that have had the biggest impact?

That less truly is more. I’ve had one foot in the beauty industry for as long as I can remember and trust me, I’ve tried everything. I grew up using only natural products on my skin so everything else usually feels very off for me. But when I really started to strip down and simplify my routine my skin started feeling so much more balanced.

I have good skin genetically except from occasional outbreaks of eczema that usually stems from stress, exposure to harsh chemicals or histamine rich foods. So for me It’s really about simple skincare that cleanses gently and nourishes deeply, staying hydrated and shaking things up with a little movement and cold exposure from time to time.
